Outside the Walls
The tradition of stained glass dates back over many centuries and reached its peak during the building of the great cathedrals. This technique was also used by Lermite (1920-1977) from the 1950s onwards. There is now a surge in appreciation for the Le Locle artist’s works, spread over 14 sites. The exhibition concentrates on windows created in the canton of Neuchâtel – this enables us not only to follow the transformation of Lermite’s landscapes towards more geometric shapes, but also to gain an understanding of his development.
