This portrait by painter Alexandre Girod, inspired by the Tuscan art he studied in Florence, depicts an allegorical figure with feminine features. Our gaze is drawn to the hypnotic spiral of the orange background, which vibrates around this taciturn, solitary figure. Inspired by a quotation from Swiss psychoanalyst Oscar Forel (1891-1982) that Girod integrates into the painting, this psychological work, reminiscent of the Pre-Raphaelites, invites us to reflect on the relationship between outer and inner life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This work was also presented at MBAL during the exhibition Le plaisir du texte<\/a><\/em> (2023).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
